Using blogs

After just becoming proficient in 'skype' and online discussion using blackboard I'm being faced with a digital curve ball in having to skill myself with some new IT skills to keep up with the class.

I am very aware of the irony of my situation having taught for a few years and me doing this to the students on a weekly basis. If all those student could see me now.

I think it may be the digital version of 'Give me a fish and i will feed for a day, teach me to fish and i will feed for a lifetime' but not too sure if I am the fish or the worm sitting on the end of a hook!!!

He, he, he... Yay! I'm SO relieved to read that a fellow OET student feels as technologically inept as I currently do!! Phew! (p.s. Hope your wrist is ok!)

Hi Sam
Really enjoyed your demo on skype. Jenny and I are keen to do a demo on bubbl.us and want to use a program like the one you used using pointer and moving from page to page. Can you please tell us what the program is and can it be downloaded or is it a "bought "tool.Anne Maree

Hi Simone (& Anne Marre). Firstly thanks for being the first commentees to by blog page.

I would like to say that inept is such a strong word. In teacher talk (as it is nearly report writing time again...yippee) I like the term 'developing'. In some areas quicker than others.

However it is a term that I would choose to describe the medical staff up here who put me under general to remove the metal plate from my arm only to realise half-way through the operation that they do not have the equipment to undo the screws. So yes my wrist is ok, thanks for asking.

No doubt we will chat soon online in cyber-space somewhere.

Thanks

Sam
